As Bloomberg's Enterprise presence continues to grow, we are responding by building cohesive and innovative enterprise-level solutions to increase the re-usability, scalability, and quality of our web products while providing tools and guidance for our businesses.
The Web DevX engineering team is looking to unify the web application development ecosystem at Bloomberg. We are building out the infrastructure for bootstrapping applications, local development sandboxes, build/deploy pipelines and testing frameworks to streamline the application development lifecycle.
In our team, you will be working closely with Bloomberg's DevX group to design and build a standardized tool chain and capabilities and with application groups to adopt them which will enable them to develop their business solutions at a faster pace thereby reducing the time-to-market while reaping the benefits of a standard developer experience. You will also help re-architect our web ecosystem as an easier-to-use, more unified state, with lower maintenance for developers and a high level of support and documentation for new users.

• Collaborate within an Agile, multi-disciplinary, fast paced team
• Communicate and interact with product managers and end-users
• Bring in best-in-class open-source technologies (with option to contribute back)
You'll need to have:
• 4+ years working with Typescript and/or Javascript (ES5/ES6), including modern web frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Experience coordinating large-scale enhancements across multiple engineering and product teams
• Can communicate and present products and best practices to large audiences
• Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, and Deployment tools
• Experience with server languages such as NodeJs, Go, and Python
• Experience using PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• NGINX, Haproxy or other web server experience
• Curiosity and ability to figure out how things work under the hood
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
We would love to see:
• Experience with standard developer tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
• Experience architecting and building self-service and developer workflow tools
